Services

Maintaining a healthy lawn involves using good maintenance practices throughout the growing season. Proper mowing, fertilizing, irrigation and thatch control provide a dense, healthy, high-quality lawn.

Since every project is unique, this is only a basic list of some of the services that we provide. Depending on the individual needs of each client we will do our best to serve you!

Some of our maintenance services include:

  • Mowing/Trimming - The importance of good mowing practices is often overlooked. Mowing has a major influence on the turf density, uniformity and aesthetic quality of a home lawn. It is also the most repetitious and time-consuming maintenance practice and is often done incorrectly. On a regularly scheduled, weekly basis, we tend your lawn with properly trained personnel, and appropriate and well-maintained equipment. This service includes weekly mowing and trimming of all grass areas and Of course, we thoroughly clean up the leftover grass clippings.

  • Fertilizing Understanding and implementing a well-balanced fertilizer program is one of the most important factors in maintaining an attractive healthy lawn. The three main nutrients required by lawns are:

          nitrogen (N)

          phosphorus (P)

          potassium (K)

Nitrogen promotes dark green colour, leaf and blade development, and density of the turf.  Phosphorus is important for good root and rhizome development and promotes plant maturity.  Potassium contributes to the general vigour of the plant and promotes wear, drought tolerance and winter hardiness.

  • Dethatching – This procedure removes the naturally occurring accumulation of thatch (dead grass and root material) from your lawn. Doing so allows water and nutrients to be more uniformly and quickly absorbed and for new grass sprouts to grow more easily.

  • Garden Bed Edging  – The best way to keep your garden beds looking clean-cut and fresh, is by cutting an edge around the perimeter of the bed. There is actually 2 purposes for doing this.  One, is to create a barrier between the garden bed and the lawn, so the grass does not grow into the garden bed. And Two, it also serves as an excellent way to keep your cedar mulch from falling out of the bed and onto the grass.

  • Weed Control/Removal

  • Garden Bed Maintenance

  • Pruning  Pruning is essential to encourage a healthy growth and flowering, and as well as good looks. Shrubs and trees, need to be pruned regularily and at the right time. Every shrub and tree are different from one another so proper research and practice prior to pruning is essential.

  • Spring Yard Cleanup

  • Fall Leaf/yard Cleanup

  • Lawn Aeration – Aeration (or Core Aeration) is done by creating small holes throughout your lawn by extracting plugs of soil. There are many proven benefits to aerating, such as; improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere, enhanced soil water uptake, improved fertilizer uptake and use, reduced water runoff and puddling, stronger turfgrass roots, and reduced soil compaction.

  • Mulch Top Dressing – Mulching is one of the best things you can do for your garden.  By Mulching we mean, placing a protective barrier (mulch) around your plants and over top your bare soil. This protective barrier can be made up of a variety of organic materials, such as bark or wood chips (from various tree species), pine needles, straw, pebbles, and river rock. By top dressing your garden beds with a decorative mulch, not only enhances the appearance of your garden beds but it also provides protection for your plants and shrubs.

  • 1. Controls weeds!  Weeds hate shade, and mulch is the ideal barrier.

  • 2. Retains Moisture!  By covering the garden bed soil, the sun has a less chance of drying up the soil.

  • 3. Saves you Money!  Less watering, means, less money you will spend.

  • 4. Overall Health and Wellness!   Who wants to be pulling weeds, and making sure your plants aren’t gonna die from dehydration! Less stress, less work, equals more relaxation.

  • Re-Sodding

  • Seeding/Overseeding – The best way to defend your lawn from invading weeds is to maintain a thick and healthy lawn that can fight them off.  A simple natural way of controlling weeds is to “overseed” your lawn.  A thick grass competes for soil nutrients and makes it harder for weeds to claim the territory.
